Samsung Galaxy A73 5G Review with Pros and Cons – Bit Pricey – Bestiphone

Samsung was doing great in 2021, they had launched some of the best phones at a good price tag but now, in 2022, things have changed and now, they’re charging extra for every new smartphone and that’s the same case with the newly launched Samsung Galaxy A73 5G.

The all-new Galaxy A73 5G price in India starts from Rs 41,999 for 8GB Ram + 128GB storage while 8GB Ram + 256GB storage variant is priced at Rs 44,999. The device comes with Awesome Gray, Awesome Mint, and Awesome White color options and it will be available from 8th April 2022 in India.

Samsung Galaxy A73 5G Review

If your budget is Rs 41,999 and if you want only a Samsung smartphone then yes, Galaxy A73 5G is worth buying otherwise, we have tons of options like Xiaomi 11T Pro 5G, OnePlus 9RT 5G, and even better Motorola Edge 30 Pro 5G, so overall, it depends on whether you’re willing to pay Rs 41,999 for Samsung logo or not?

Now, the phone does have good cameras and it takes good images too but still, the cameras don’t justify the Rs 41,999 price tag, this would have been a great smartphone but because of the pricing, it ended up a good smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy A73 5G Pros and Cons

PROS CONS
120Hz Screen Refresh rate Bit Pricey
sAMOLED Display No 3.5mm Audio Jack
Solid Battery Life Only 25W charging support
OIS Support No Wireless Charging support
Good Cameras Cameras needs improvement
Android 12 Out of the Box No Charger in-box
IP67 rating Hybrid Slot
Stereo Speakers
Good Performance
4 Years of OS Updates

This is where things get a little bit messy,

The Galaxy A73 5G is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor and it runs on OneUI 4.1 based on Android 12.

Samsung has also promised 4 years of OS updates and 5 years of security updates. By the way, the phone is running on OneUI 4.1 based on Android 12 which means, this phone will get updates up to Android 16 which is great for a mid-budget smartphone.

Now, we have tons of smartphones with Snapdragon 778G processors and most of them are available from 25k to 30k, some of them are also available at only 20k too, and here comes the Galaxy A73 5G at Rs 41,999 with the same processor.

In short, the Snapdragon 778G is a great processor but it doesn’t worth the 42k price tag if the mobile brand wants to put this chip in 1lakh smartphones then they can do it but in the end, we have to decide, whether its worth buying or not?

The 108MP sensor has OIS which means, the videos will come out stable but for some reason when we shoot videos at 4k, the videos don’t come out as smooth as 1080p.

Now, Samsung has done a great job with colors, and the details have also come out well. Now, the problem is, this is a 42k smartphone, and considering the price tag, the phone doesn’t have the best camera setup.

When we go above the 30k price, we have tons of great options and you only have to choose Android skin, if you’re okay with MIUI then there is no better option at Xiaomi 11T Pro 5G (review) but if you want pure stock UI then there is also Motorola edge 30 Pro 5G (review).

In short, you have tons of Android options, so I don’t see any reason to compromise at 42k just because it has a Samsung logo.

Yes, it has a stereo speaker and it’s great, no complaints. There is also a secondary noise cancellation microphone too which helps a lot in calling.

Now, if you’re that person who uses wired earphones then you have to buy a type-C to 3.5mm dongle because the phone doesn’t have a 3.5mm audio jack.

Overall, there won’t be any kind of issue with calling as well as audio, Samsung has done a great job this time.

Battery Life

Most of the smartphones at 35k come with either 120W or 65W fast charging support but Samsung decided to go with 25W wired charging support.

Fun fact, Samsung didn’t give a charger in the box, so you have to use whatever you have at home or buy a 25W charger from Samsung which will cost you Rs 1,999.

This way, you will pay Rs 41,999 for the smartphone + Rs 1,999 for the charger, so the total will be Rs 44000.

That 5,000 mAh battery will last for a day but in the end, it will depend on how you use the smartphone in day-to-day life.

So when you’re taking images at night, stick with the primary sensor.

Now, don’t get me started on those 5MP + 5MP sensors. They are added for marketing, they won’t make any huge difference.

Coming to 32MP selfie shooter,

Here, I feel, Samsung has done a great job, if you’re that person who loves to take selfies then you will appreciate it. Now, when it comes to selfie videos, there is some issue with dynamic range, it’s a hit or miss kind of situation.

Sometimes, it takes the best videos but sometimes, it feels like, a budget smartphone selfie camera.

By the way, whatever problem this smartphone has, all can be fixed with single OTA updates and the sensor are more than capable too but in the end, it depends on Samsung when they will improve the cameras.

Overall, for the price of Rs 41999, the cameras are not that great, you can call these good cameras.
